ACES Launch: Stage 1

ACES is proud to announce the completion of the Aunty Fay Carter Administration Building, which includes the renovation of our Reception, Administration, and Social Support building. We celebrated the official opening in February, with a special ceremony. The event was attended by ACES Elders, Families, the Community, Minister Ingrid Stitt, Commissioner Andrea Kelly, ACCO CEOs, and local councilors.

Uncle Jason Tamiru led a smoking ceremony which was followed by a moving Welcome to Country from Stacie Piper, a proud Wurundjeri woman. Guests were then treated to dances performed by the Djirra Djirra dance group.

Speeches from Commissioner Travis Lovett (Yoorrook Justice Committee), Aunty Linda Bamblett (ACES Board Chairperson), Cr Adam Pullford (Warrk-Warrk Ward, Merri-Bek Council), Minister Ingrid Stitt (Minister for Ageing), and ACES CEO James Atkinson inspired and uplifted all in attendance.

We were also honored by a performance from former ACES CEO, Uncle Ray Ahmat, while guests enjoyed morning tea and building tours.
