We are thrilled to announce the return of our ACES Women’s Group! Like many community programs, our Women’s and Men’s Groups were paused during COVID-19 to protect Elders and staff. With careful planning, we recently celebrated our first gathering.
The group enjoyed a gentle walk, shared meal, and plenty of yarning. These gatherings are built on the goal of nurturing mental health, strengthen community connections, and honouring Aboriginal traditions.
Across Nations, including Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung, Boon Wurrung, Taungurung, Dja Dja Wurrung, and Wadawurrung Peoples, women have long held vital roles as knowledge holders, land carers, and protectors of family and culture. Today, our groups welcome people while continuing to honour the work of deadly Elders like Aunty Iris Lovett Gardiner.
